Research Interests:
Dr. Schmidt serves as a team member on the research project concerning Optimizing nutrient management to sustain agricultural ecosystems and protect water quality. His research addresses the physical, chemical, and biological processes controlling nitrogen transformations and movement in soils, focusing on processes controlling nitrogen movement at the field and landscape scales.
