This treaty formalized the purchase of land in Pennsylvania and cemented an amicable relationship between the Quakers and the Indians for almost a hundred years.  Penn was the last figure on which Brumidi worked.

BRADY LEADS EFFORT TO AUTHORIZE SOJOURNER TRUTH COMMEMORATION AND CIVIL RIGHTS HISTORY PROJECT

 

Washington, DC (April 22, 2009):  House Administration Chairman Robert A. Brady yesterday moved through the House a resolution clearing the way to use the Capitol Visitor Center’s Emancipation Hall for the unveiling of a bust commemorating the life of civil rights pioneer and suffrage leader Sojourner Truth.

HOUSE ADMINISTRATION SCHEDULES HEARING ON SMITHSONIAN ASBESTOS ISSUE

 

Washington, DC (March 17, 2009): House Administration Chairman Robert A. Brady today announced a hearing on recent revelations that the Smithsonian Institution has failed to address dangerous workplace conditions.  The specific allegations point to the presence of asbestos in museum walls and insufficient precautions to ensure the safety of museum visitors and workers.
