Work to Begin on the South Fork Salmon River Road

McCall, ID – Starting on the week of May 27, the Payette National Forest will be repairing the South Fork of the Salmon River Road between the turnoff at Warm Lake on the south end, to the junction with the Lick Creek road to the north end.  Some traffic delays are expected. 

A contractor will be paving the sections of road where culverts were installed late last summer.  Granite Excavation, Inc, from Cascade will be paving over the 140 replaced culverts.  Traffic delays for paving may be up to 30 minutes.  The paving work will last for 3 to 4 weeks.

The Forest Service crews will also be repairing culverts which sustained damage during the recent snowmelt.  Traffic delays for the culvert repairs may be up to 2 to 3 hours.   The culvert repair work should be completed in 1 to 2 weeks. 

Work will not occur during the weekends, which means there will be no delays during the weekends.
