WASHINGTON, DC—House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn today commented on catastrophic shooting incident at Virginia Tech.
“I am heartbroken by the tragic shooting that occurred today at Virginia Tech. Thousands of students—from South Carolina, around the nation and overseas—flock to Blacksburg for education and enlightenment and call Virginia Tech home. For a sanctuary of learning to become the scene of the most catastrophic shooting event in our nation’s history, truly makes this a solemn day. Their tragedy is our nation’s tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the students, faculty, staff and their families as they cope with and recover from these events.”
