Overview

spacer

Savage Rapids Dam, located on the Rogue River, is just upstream from Grants Pass, Oregon. The dam is owned and operated by the Grants Pass Irrigation District. Reclamation conducted the sedimentation study at their request.

The purpose of this study was to determine the potential sedimentation impacts resulting from removal of Savage Rapids Dam.

Conclusions include reservoir sediment volume estimates, sediment chemical composition, and rates of erosion and deposition.
