Office of Research and Development Plan for
EDC's
EPA/600/R-98/087
(PDF, 316 Kb, 55 pp)
February 1998
This research strategy was developed to provide a roadmap for the EPA
Office of Research and Development's program on endocrine disruptors.
It was developed by a team of scientists representing all of ORD's National
Laboratories and Centers and is intended to provide guidance to both the
intramural research program and the extramural grants program in terms
of research priorities and the pacing of the research programs over the
next five years (e.g., the need for risk management activities is recognized,
but efforts are not scheduled to begin in earnest for several years as
we strive to better comprehend the extent, magnitude, and sources of the
biological effects).
Office
of Research and Development Multi-Year Plan for EDC Research
The Office of Research and Development (ORD) has initiated a multi-year
planning effort to plan the direction of our research program in selected
topic areas over five or more years. This approach promotes ORD's focus
on the highest priority issues and provides coordination for achieving
our long-term research goals. The focus of this effort is the development
of Multi-Year Plans (MYPs). The purpose of the MYPs is to provide a framework
that integrates research across ORD's laboratories and centers and Government
Performance and Results Act (GPRA) goals in support of the Agency's mission
to protect human health and the environment. The MYPs identify long-term
goals, and present annual performance goals (APGs) and associated annual
performance measures (APMs) for a planning window of approximately 5-10
years...
