Velvet-Antlered Elk - June 11

While heading home, the sun was very low in the sky creating very warm light on everything it struck. While still in the Blacktail Plateau, Jim saw a few bull elk standing together. Their racks were still growing and so they were covered with the soft covering that has come to be know as ‘velvet’. One bull was especially nicely lit so Jim singled it out for the video shown here.
