Before Ros-Lehtinen Hosts Her 3rd Annual Hurricane Summit In Marathon, She Will Meet With Students Building Energy Efficient Home As Well As Visit The Community Health of South Florida, Inc. Marathon Health Center (CHI)

Monroe County, Florida ----- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a senior member of the Florida
Congressional Delegation, will be spending this upcoming Saturday, May 9th in Marathon, Florida visiting with students, touring the Community Health of South Florida, Inc. Marathon Health Center (CHI)
and hosting her 3rd Annual Hurricane Summit.

On Saturday, May 9th at 10:30 AM, Ileana will be meeting with students from the Architectural Construction Engineering (ACE) Academy at Marathon Senior High School. The students are working together with Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys to construct an energy efficient home for a local family. Marathon High School is located at 350 Sombrero Beach Road, Marathon, Florida.

At 12 Noon, Ileana visits the Community Health of South Florida, Inc. Marathon Health Center (CHI), which is an affordable community health clinic in Marathon. The Congresswoman has been a strong supporter of increased
federal assistance for community health centers, such as this one, and is fully supportive of the vital medical services provided to needy residents. The Director of CHI  issued the following quote to coincide with Ileana’s visit:

Colonel Brodes H Hartley, Jr stated: “We are most pleased and excited that Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen has chosen to visit CHI Marathon Center. She has been a strong supporter of Federally Qualified Health Centers and quality health services for all citizens, especially the uninsured and underserved. We are fortunate to have such an advocate.”

From 1:00 through 3:00 PM on Saturday, Ileana hosts her 3rd Annual Hurricane Preparedness Summit that will feature hurricane experts, scientists, local elected officials, and emergency management personnel from the federal, state, and local levels of government. This event is free and the public is urged to attend. Please note that a more comprehensive press release on this Summit was issued this past Monday, May 4th.
