The scope of the summit is to focus the Gulf Coast regional maritime stakeholders on a range of discussions and problems involving the small vessel security risk within the gulf coast maritime domain.

Gen. Petraeus and Capt. Diehl at the Armed Forces Bowl

Army Gen. David Petraeus, U.S. Central Command commander (right), and Capt. William Diehl, Sector Houston-Galveston commander, take a moment to honor the men and women serving in countries around the world as part of a halftime ceremony at the Armed Forces Bowl in Ft. Worth, Texas, Dec. 31, 2008.

The ceremony also featured more than 20 Coast Guard recruits who were sworn into service by Diehl.
