Biographical Information
Name: Gerard (Gerry) F. LaniakTitle: Environmental Engineer
Education:
- B.C.E. 1975 Civil Engineering, Catholic University of America, Washington, DC
- M.S.E.E. 1980 Environmental Engineering, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Expertise/Research Interests:
Formulation, testing, and application of multimedia multipathway exposure models
for human and ecological endpoints of concern to be applied in context of
regulatory-based assessments. Establishment of comprehensive protocols and
methods for conducting assessments of uncertainty in simulation of exposure and
risk.
Professional Activities:
Chairperson for Interagency Workgroup (via formal Mememorandum of Understanding entitled "Cooperation on Research on Multimedia Environmental Models") on Software System Design and Implementation for Environmental Modeling. This MOU is intended to provide a mechanism for the cooperating Federal Agencies to pursue a common technology in multimedia environmental modeling with a shared scientific basis.
