Title: Environmental Engineer

Education:

Ph.D.

2003

Environmental Engineering

University of Iowa, Iowa City , IA

M.S.

1999

Civil and Environmental Engineering

University of Akron, Akron, OH

B.S.

1996

Civil Engineering

Ohio University, Athens, OH

Research Interests:
Steve's research is to assess the potential exposure of community water systems to pesticides, toxic compounds, and their transformation products after the contaminated raw water has undergone water treatment (e.g. chlorine disinfection and water softening). Specific goals of Steve's research are to: 1) provide chemical-specific information on the effects of water treatment for high-priority pollutants, 2) provide physicochemical parameters for transformation products, and 3) develop predictive models capable of forecasting treatment effects that cross chemical class and treatment conditions.
