Objective:
To confirm putative pheromone components for the citrus leafminer, Phyllonistis citrella, and determine optimal deployment strategies.
Approach:
Pheromone lures provided by collaborators at Univ. of California, Davis will be deployed in commercial traps at the USDA, ARS farm at Fort Pierce, FL. Relative performance of different lure components, lure height, lure density, and other factors will be examined through replicated trials in citrus groves known to be infested with the leafminer.
