Cypress Swamp Boardwalk - Loxahatchee NWR

(This photo is a 360-degree IPIX interactive image, which allows you to navigate with your mouse: up, down, right and left, in order to see the entire surrounding landscape.)

Come visit the Cypress Swamp Boardwalk at Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. Ferns, cypress trees and air plants are abundant here.

When the photo is first loaded you are looking down a straight section of the Cypress Swamp wooden Boardwalk at Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. To the left and right of the boardwalk you can see air plants hanging from tall cypress trees, and beneath the trees a lush understory of ferns.

Navigating to the right, cypress trees and other vegetation grow in standing swamp waters. Continuing to the right, you see the boardwalk curving through more of the swamp vegetation.

As you continue the 360-degree turn to the image’s starting point, more lush greenery of the swamp is seen.

Navigating up with your mouse, you can see sunlight shining through the tall swamp trees. Navigating down, you see the South Florida Information Access (SOFIA) web site logo, which is linked to the SOFIA main page (http://sofia.usgs.gov).
