Frequently Asked Questions - OHV/ATV

  1. Where can I ride my OHV/ATV? The Malheur does not have a route or trail system specifically designed for OHV/ATVs.
  2. Do I need a special permit to ride my OHV/ATV? The Umatilla, Malheur and Wallowa-Whitman National Forests now require the Oregon State Parks and Recreation ATV Operating Decal when operating ATV’s. Decals can be purchased through the Oregon State Parks and Recreation offices or their vendors.
  3. Which roads are closed to ATV's on the Malheur? All paved road's (hard surface) single or double lane and all double lane gravel roads are closed to ATV'S as well as roads determined to be inappropriate for mixed ATV/passenger car traffic.
