The Serve Guam! Commission is working to strengthen and promote volunteer service opportunities for Guam residents of all ages and background. As the newest Commission (1year and 3 months) in the nation, we are pleased to announce the 2006 Guam Volunteer Conference to be held from October 27th – 29th. The volunteer conference is for organizations, such as yours, and will unfold over several days with the following plenary sessions – Starting Friday the 27th with a Pre-Expo Volunteer Networking Seminar & Afternoon Roundtable Session  for Community volunteer leaders from 8 am to noon; Saturday the 28th volunteers will engage in a day of service with AmeriCorps programs for Make a Difference Day; and on Sunday October 29th Serve Guam! delivers the main event Guam’s first Volunteer Expo from 12 noon to 4 pm at the University of Guam Fieldhouse. Also, added is a special feature localizing a national goal to boost volunteers in the community entitled 10 by 10 Challenge.  The itinerary for the three day conference can be viewed or downloaded here .

This is an opportunity to showcase and recognize outstanding volunteer service from your members as well as to inspire our local residents young and old to volunteer. In keeping with the Corporation for National & Community Service’s call to service, we are encouraging your organization to join us in building and supporting our island’s volunteer network.

We hope that your organization will accept our invitation and learn more about our programs and who are shaping the volunteer environment on Guam.  Please complete the  Volunteer Conference Sign-up form and email Serve Guam!
