Figure 23. Number of subtrips by fleet and statistical area. Four fleets are depicted: Study Fleet pilot program, New England fishing fleet and New England groundfish fleet (all trips and groundfish-only trips). The groundfish fleet is a subset of the New England fleet and comprises all vessels that landed Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus), pollock (Pollachius virens), white hake (Urophycis tenuis), Acadian redfish (Sebastes fasciatus), ocean pout (Zoarces americanus), yellowtail flounder (Limanda ferruginea), winter flounder (Pseudopleuronectes americanus), witch flounder (Glyptocephalus cynoglossus), windowpane flounder (Scophthalmus aquosus), American plaice (Hippoglossoides platessoides), and Atlantic halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus) during 2004 based on dealer weighout reports.  Statistical areas not shown account for less than 5% of total subtrips for all fleet categories.
