The New England fishing fleet is defined as all vessels with landings in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island in 2004 based on dealer weighout reports. The groundfish fleet is a subset of the New England fleet and comprises all vessels that landed Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus), pollock (Pollachius virens), white hake (Urophycis tenuis), Acadian redfish (Sebastes fasciatus), ocean pout (Zoarces americanus), yellowtail flounder (Limanda ferruginea), winter flounder (Pseudopleuronectes americanus), witch flounder (Glyptocephalus cynoglossus), windowpane flounder (Scophthalmus aquosus), American plaice (Hippoglossoides platessoides), and Atlantic halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus) during 2004 based on dealer weighout reports. Ton class (TC) is defined based on Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO) definition (TC2: 0-≤50, TC3: 51-≤150, TC4: 151-<500).
