Washington, DC (February 9, 2007) – Congressman Rubén Hinojosa (TX-15) today announced that the U.S. Postal Service has completed its study of the originating mail processing at the McAllen Processing and Distribution Facility (P&DF). After careful review, the Postal Service has determined that consolidating the McAllen P&DF will not result in any improvements in the efficiency of service. Therefore, no changes will be made at this time.
“I am pleased that the U.S. Postal Service has recognized the importance of the plant in McAllen and the fact that there would be no improvements in shifting the outgoing mail processing operation to Corpus Christi,” said Hinojosa. “This plant is valuable to Valley not only as a job creator, but also in ensuring that mail is delivered in a timely fashion.”
