Q.  In what units are LANDFIRE Canopy Base Height (CBH) and Canopy Bulk Density (CBD) measured?

Canopy base height is measured in units of meters * 10. Thus, a value of 5 on the CBH grid layer is actually 0.5 meters. Canopy Bulk Density is measured in units of Kg m-3 * 100. Thus, a value of 6 on the CBD grid layer is actually 0.06 Kg m-3. The multipliers augment the raw units to facilitate implantation in FARSITE and FlamMap. Full descriptions of the CBH and CBD products can be found in the Data Products: National section of this website.
