Lighter and less expensive than the single-agent, handheld assay now used by the Department of Defense, this handheld agent detector can also detect 10 biothreat targets simultaneously. Providing a detection system that is light, rapid, reliable and easy-to-use, and one that can detect multiple threats, enhances the military's ability to protect its soldiers on the battlefield and the American people in the homeland in case of biological warfare agent attacks.

Airmen who work at the Port Mortuary would also utilize the new facility. An improvised chapel is currently being used to host families who come to the base to receive our fallen heroes.

Failure to plan for and construct a new facility could result in the loss of calibration and repair services on Dover AFB, resulting in the 5,400-item inventory being moved to another facility.

Developed to be compatible with the SOF's Protective Combat Uniform designed for frigid conditions, this SOF Modular Glove System provides cold weather protection to -50 degrees, as well as provides waterproof protection in wet conditions. The requested funding will enhance the readiness of SOF forces by providing them the Modular Glove System sooner than planned, thereby contributing to their effectiveness in the field.
