The Public Affairs Office (PAO) works to communicate ecological knowledge to policy makers and members of the media.

- writing news releases, running the news room at ESA’s Annual Meeting,
- handling reporter-initiated inquiries, and
- coordinating with other institutions on news releases and press conferences.

Our priorities are to:
- Infuse the best available science into environmental decision-making
- Ensure strong funding for the ecological sciences
- Communicate ecological knowledge to the general public
