Research Project: A Strategy for Responding to the Whole Genome Shotgun Sequence of the Soybean Genome - Purdue Assembly

Location: Corn Insects and Crop Genetics Research

Project Number: 3625-21000-052-02
Project Type: Specific Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 13, 2007
End Date: Jun 30, 2009

Objective:
Ensure that genome assembly activities are integrated with those of the SoyMap project funded by National Science Foundation (NSF). Genome sequence will be overlaid onto the physical and genetic map. Paired ends will be identified that indicate DNA clones span gaps in the genome sequence.

Approach:
Collaborators will use bioinformatics approaches to order and orient the genome sequence with physical and genetic maps of soybean.
