The USGS last released number for the Grand Canyon population of humpback chub in 2007. Since then, new data have been collected for the Grand Canyon population of humpback chub and their environment.

The USGS will release its findings in a new report, "Abundance trends and status of the Little Colorado River population of humpback chub; an update considering data from 1989-2008," earlier in the day.
