Small Wind Installers Workshop

Date: 5/4/2009 to 5/9/2009

Location: Cotuit , MA

Cape and Islands Self-Reliance Corporation is hosting its annual small wind installers' workshop. The installation will consist of a 15-kW Proven turbine on a monopole tower.

This workshop is a hands-on training opportunity for renewable energy practitioners, business owners and interested individuals looking to get more experience with siting requirements, wind turbine equipment selection, and actual installation of a machine.

During this 6-day workshop, participants spend half of the day in classroom sessions and half of the day conducting hands-on activities relating to the actual turbine installation. You will be part of a complete installation, from siting to tying into the grid. This is a working workshop where active participation is required.

Small Wind State Stakeholder Meeting

The Annual Small Wind State Stakeholders Meeting will take place on Wednesday afternoon, May 6 during the WINDPOWER 2009 Conference. The meeting is organized by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council with support from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and is sponsored by Earth Turbines.

During the meeting states will share information on their small wind programs and experts will provide information on the most important issues in the deployment of small wind technologies.

The meeting is scheduled during the WINDPOWER Conference, but it does not conflict with the small wind conference sessions.

Wind Powering America State Summit

The Summit provides Wind Powering America's (WPA's) network of state wind working groups, state energy officials, DOE and national lab WPA representatives and its professional and institutional partners an opportunity to review successes, opportunities and challenges for wind at the state level. Participants share strategies/lessons learned, review priority activities/topics, and celebrate and recognize accomplishments among peers. The Summit features plenary sessions, regional and state breakouts, and smaller group discussions on focused issues, as well as presentations and remarks from invited national guest speakers. Summit participants include leaders of Wind Powering America's state wind working groups, institutional partners, wind industry experts, and DOE and National Laboratory staff. 16th Annual New England Energy Conference and Expo
