This project will improve transportation maintenance routines by implementing inter-agency standards and web-based technologies in order to ensure a consistent and sustainable process that meets both local and national interests especially in the case of emergencies or natural disasters. A password-protected geoprocessing service will be developed and tested for contributing user agencies to enter updates, allowing updates to be incorporated as they occur. Additionally, the awardee will create a Kenai transportation portal web page to provide access to regional transportation infrastructure and associated metadata. This page will provide data downloads in shapefile format, as an ArcGIS file geodatabase and as an Open Geospatial Consortium Web Feature Service published with ArcGIS Server. This project will also include the development of a handbook documenting the roles, responsibilities and maintenance procedures of entities involved in maintaining transportation information which will also be available via the Kenai Transportation Portal web page.
