Partnerships
Partnerships form the foundation of Clean Cities. They occur at the state and local levels through coalitions composed of state and local officials, industry representatives, and community organizations. Partnerships also take place at the national level through working relationships with other agencies and programs, original equipment manufacturers, fuel providers, and national associations. In addition to strong industry support, the U.S. Department of Energy is exploring the expansion of its partnerships to harness collective resources to displace petroleum. Cooperative efforts across agencies, initiatives, and programs may include joint education and outreach, technical assistance, research and analysis, market development, and project co-funding. Clean Cities intends to serve as the catalyst to regularly collaborate on ways to best advance common goals.
Clean Cities shares its petroleum displacement goals with international groups in India, Peru, and the Philippines. It works with national governments, U.S. industry, and worldwide partners to establish a foundation for viable alternative fuels markets. In this role, Clean Cities hosts delegations, provides technical training with leveraged resources, and shares its model to support the acceptance and use of alternative fuels and other petroleum-reducing technologies and measures worldwide.
