Michigan Wind Energy Resource Zone Board

Location: MI

The board's responsibilities include consulting with local units of government in the study of:

  • wind energy production potential
  • the viability of wind as a source of commercial energy generation in Michigan, and
  • the availability of land in Michigan for potential use by wind energy systems.

The board is also required to conduct modeling and other studies related to wind energy, including studying existing wind energy systems, estimating additional wind energy development, and average annual wind speeds.
