Western Lake Erie Basin Conference and Draft Management Plan
GLNPO Director Gary Gulezian and Lake Erie LaMP Manager Dan O’Riordan participated in a three-day Western Lake Erie Basin Conference (March 10-12, 2009) at Maumee State Park in Oregon, Ohio.

Botulism Workshop Journal Article
A journal submission summarizing the Great Lakes Basinwide Botulism Coordination Workshop and resulting options for next-steps in addressing botulism outbreaks was accepted for publication by The Botulinum Journal (http://www.inderscience.com/tbj). The article will be published in the journal’s next quarterly edition.

Habitat/Species Workshops
The third and fourth in a series of workshops, one in each Great Lakes State and one to engage Tribal interests, as part of the Great Lakes Regional Collaboration’s (GLRC) Habitat/Species Subcommittee were held in January in Illinois and Indiana.

Mercury Emissions Strategy
The Mercury Reduction Strategy technical team held teleconference calls during the months of November and December to further the progress of the Mercury Emission Phase-Down Strategy. The work group members selected source sectors based on the criteria communicated in the June 17, 2008 memo to stakeholders.
