Special Projects by Topic

Topic Definitions

States are involved in all phases of developing and deploying renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, often in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) State Energy Program (SEP). State energy offices manage projects in the four market sectors that produce and consume energy: buildings, electric power, industry, and transportation. They also support policy initiatives as required by their state legislatures and executives. Finally, they are at the forefront of public information campaigns to educate the public about the benefits of energy-efficient products and the potential of renewable energy.

Here you will learn how the State Energy Program categorizes these projects by topic, definitions of included projects, and links to project descriptions for each topic.
