The goal of this project is development of a prototype magnetospheric state-based trapped particle radiation database to help overcome the limitations of established empirical trapped radiation models. This system will respond to queries based on differing magnetospheric conditions or states that vary with solar wind and IMF driving conditions and geomagnetic responses, returning the relevant particle data. This work is a research project performed in conjunction with NASA's Living with a Star Program. Living with a Star seeks to improve the understanding of aspects of the connected Sun-Earth system that directly affect life and society.
The project's lead institution is NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. The Principal Investigator is Dr. S. F. Fung.
