Secretary Chu to Visit Colorado to Announce New Recovery Act Funding at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory
Washington, DC - Tomorrow, US Energy Secretary Steven Chu will make a major announcement on new funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and other renewable energy projects during a visit to the laboratory in Golden, Colorado. This is Secretary Chu’s first visit to NREL since being confirmed as Energy Secretary. Secretary Chu will be joined by Governor Bill Ritter and other elected officials.
The visit comes as President Obama marks his 100th day in office, and highlights the Administration’s commitment to changing the way the nation produces and uses energy.
The Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory is one of DOE’s seventeen national laboratories. NREL is the nation's primary laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development.
