Secretary Chu to Highlight Next Generation Clean Energy Jobs During Address to Energy Information Agency
Secretary Chu will also address Newsweek’s Global Environment Leadership Conference in the afternoon

Washington, DC – US Energy Secretary Steven Chu will address the Energy Information Administration 2009 Energy Conference on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Secretary Chu will highlight ways the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the Obama Energy Agenda will position the US to create the next generation of high tech, clean energy jobs.

In the a fternoon, Secretary Chu will participate in Newsweek’s Third Annual Global Environment Leadership Conference Keynote Luncheon. Secretary Chu will highlight the Administration ' s commitment to energy independence and underscore the importance of securing a clean energy economy for the future. The luncheon will be moderated by Fareed Zakaria, former editor of Newsweek International.

Secretary Chu's press availability will be following the EIA speech in the morning.
