Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Scalise is partnering with People to People Leadership Program to offer six students from Louisiana’s First Congressional District the opportunity to personally witness the swearing in of Barack Obama as our nation’s 44th President.

“I’m honored to partner with People to People’s leadership program to provide an opportunity for young students to participate in this historic Inauguration. Many future leaders will come from this program, and this will be a unique opportunity for students from Southeast Louisiana to be a part of this experience.”

People to People is an organization that provides educational leadership and travel opportunities for students in grades 5 through 12. Congressman Scalise is providing the Inauguration tickets, and People to People is sponsoring the trip for the six Louisiana students to travel to Washington, DC and attend the President’s Inauguration. These six students were selected by their schools to participate in the People to People program and will be joining other students from across the country in Washington, D.C.
