The park is in the early stages of a new General Management Plan (GMP). A GMP is the primary planning document for any national park and provides a twenty year vision for park management. It deal with issues such as boundary changes, new facilities, landscape management, etc. In short, any major decision should be addressed in the GMP.
The GMP should take two to three years. There will be multiple opportunities for public input. Progress reports will be posted here on the park’s web site.
