Tax Information Requests

Individual Income Tax Information

You can request a copy of your tax information, including your tax return. We retain tax returns for five years as required by law.

Here is some important information regarding tax information requests:

  • Your request needs to be submitted in writing. We cannot accept requests by e-mail.
  • Due to confidentiality restrictions, you may not access taxpayer records other than your own. We will assess requests involving Power of Attorney on a case-by-case basis.
  • There is a 50-cent per page charge for providing copies.

Most information concerning property assessment and taxation, with the exception of sales information, which is confidential, is available for public access. The information is available through the Department of Revenue in the county where the property exists or you may call the Department of Revenue at (406) 444-6900.
