Packaging of plutonium metal commenced on June 14, 200l.

National Conference of State Legislatures, Legislative Roundtable Discussion on Rocky Flats: Rocky Flats is supporting the June 27-28 conference with speakers and a tour. The conference will focus on environmental cleanup issues related to Rocky Flats. The intent of the roundtable is provide legislators with balanced information and 3 variety of perspectives on closure activities, environmental restoration and long-term stewardship activities. Legislators from Colorado, Nevada, Idaho, New Mexico, Georgia, South Carolina and Washington will attend.

Accelerated Closure

Plutonium Stabilization and Operations System (PuSPS) Status (Rocky Plats):  Rocky Flats started operation of the PuSPS n June 14 and completed one 3013 container package. Operations resumed on June 19; the site is planning on packaging two containers each day June 19-21.

Shipments of Transuranic Wastes from the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site (Site) to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant: The Site completed four shipments during the week of June 11. Five shipments are scheduled for the week of June 18.
