Occurrence Reporting Quality

The Occurrence Reporting and Processing System (ORPS) is one of the Department of Energy's most important resources for obtaining information on numbers and types of events, common or related causes for these events, effective corrective actions, and lessons learned. ORPS data, and the analysis that comes from it, is only as good as the information that goes into the system. The value of ORPS data is enhanced by timely reporting, complete and consistent event information, thorough and technically defensible cause analysis and description, corrective actions that will prevent the recurrence of the event, and a complete description of lessons learned to share with other sites.
