The relationship between the environment and the health of individuals and communities is well established. The most familiar aspects of it include the health of at-risk populations, environmental justice, and promotional programs such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Active Community Environments Initiative (ACES). The relationship between a healthy environment and environmental health is also being affected by geopolitical decisions, including the potential for ecoterrorism.
