FDIC ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING WILL FOCUS ON FUTURE OF BANKING AND REGULATION

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Advisory Committee on Banking Policy will be taking a close look at both the future of banking and the future of financial regulation at its upcoming meeting on April 22. The meeting, which will be held at the FDIC's Seidman Center in Arlington, Virginia, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is open to the public. This is the second meeting of the Committee, which is made up of leaders from business, academia and banking. The Advisory Committee was formed in 2002 to provide advice and recommendations relating to the FDIC's mission and activities. At the meeting on April 22, the Committee will hear presentations on, and then discuss: Issues affecting the FDIC's regional and field structure; Issues relating to effective supervision and capital regulation; and The FDIC's ongoing Future of Banking Study.
