FDIC decisions can have a significant impact on the financial industry. The FDIC Office of the Ombudsman (OO) is available to serve as a bridge between financial institutions, the public and FDIC decision-makers.

The OO's mission is to:

  • be an independent, neutral, and confidential resource and liaison for the banking industry and the general public
  • facilitate the resolution of problems and complaints in a fair, impartial, and timely manner
  • provide prompt and meaningful feedback to FDIC management
  • influence positive change at the FDIC

The OO strives to accomplish its mission by:

  • providing high quality customer service
  • seeking continuous improvement in our operations
  • encouraging meaningful involvement in this process from bankers and the public
