Western Montana Literacy Support Corps operates under the direction of Women's Opportunity and Resource Development (WORD), a non-profit organization located in Missoula. This program develops and strengthens parent involvement and family literacy programs in schools and community centers in western Montana. AmeriCorps members assist in the development and day-to-day coordination of school-based Family Resource Centers, meeting the needs of both teachers and families of school-aged children. Members help connect families to resources and facilitate a variety of parent/child learning activities to enhance family literacy. They assist school staff by reaching out to parents and providing information and tools for parents to empower themselves in support of children's education.

Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.
Program runs August 15th through June 30th.
