Senior Contract Specialist

Performs the full range of pre-award, post-award, and contract administration work on a broad spectrum of contracts, including the most complex, by performing the following duties: Performs pre-award contract activities, developing contracting plan, contractor resourcing, interfaces with various user groups (engineering, construction, operations) in support of preparation of RFP’s, conducts pre-bid meetings/jobwalks, bid evaluation and negotiations, award recommendations and contract execution; performs all facets of post award contract administration; administers changes to contracts including claim mitigation/resolution; is proactive with contractors to ensure contract compliance, various reporting requirements, invoices and supporting documents in a timely manner; performs close out of contracts; finalizes outstanding contract issues, final invoices and contractor performance evaluations; interfaces with Trust management with respect to contracting activities; and uses a variety of construction contract formats including the Guaranteed Maximum Price (“GC at Risk”) model. Full time position with benefits.

Requires at least 5 years of relevant experience with a wide variety of contract types (particularly construction contract formats including the Guaranteed Maximum Price [“GS at Risk”] model), good negotiation skills, good interpersonal skills, computer literacy in word processing and spread sheets (MS Office), excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to function in an environment of flexibility and creativity. The work requires adaptability/resilience, customer focus, communication and follow-up skills, formal presentation skills, innovation, integrity, negotiation, coordination of work with others, decision making, excellence and business acumen. Construction experience preferred. Completion of successful employment background investigation required.
