Butterfield Trail Village Logo

Butterfield Trail Village is a Life Care Retirement Community dedicated to serving seniors by maximizing ways for its residents to maintain independence, providing an aesthetically pleasing and secure environment, and offering programs for personal growth and well being.

The age range at Butterfield is 66 to 97. A majority of students are in their 80’s. Thus we are truly blazing a trail with what “seniors” can do with exercise.

We will celebrate the 50th Anniversary by:

  1. starting a new class called Sitter-size for students who can exercise only while remaining seated.
  2. beginning to record those who exercise for at least 20 minutes, 3 times per week on machines in the Fitness Room, in the main swimming pool, in the hydrotherapy pool, and all walking.
  3. promoting “Walking” by providing Progressive Plans to make Walking a Habit in 12 Weeks for beginning and intermediate walkers.
  4. participating in the Walking for Alzheimer’s 2006.
  5. providing current Fitness & Health Education via monthly newsletter, in Fitness Notes posted in elevators and outside the dining room, at monthly Nutrition Classes, and during rest periods in the Strength Training Class.
  6. instructing Relaxation Techniques in the Abs & More Class.
