2006 Efforts – “Promoting the implementation of worksite health promotion programs in Utah businesses”
- Be a statewide leader in worksite health promotion. Including being a clearinghouse for information and program exchange for worksite health promotion issues.
- Facilitate information regarding physical activity at worksites (exercise classes, National Employee Health and Fitness Day, incentive programs, pedometer programs, etc.), nutrition, safety, and health.
- Conduct an annual Worksite Health Promotion Conference; Implement the annual Healthy Worksite Award Program.
- Facilitate collaboration and partnerships with Utah businesses around worksite health promotion issues.
- Collect and report data about worksite health promotion.
Population Impacted - Approximately 500 businesses access the Healthy Worksite Awards program, the annual Worksite Conference, the UCWHP website, the UCWHP Email List Serve, consulting services provided by UCWHP staff, and reports conducted and information distributed to companies regarding the status of worksite health promotion in Utah. As a result, UCWHP is impacting hundreds of thousands of Utah workers and an untold number of extended family.
WeeCreation was founded by a stay-at-home mom who realized she had
never seen her then 9 year old daughter play hopscotch, a game that has
been popular with children for at least 2000 years and can be found in
one form or another in almost every country in the world. WeeCreation is dedicated to developing toys that encourage NATURAL
fitness for kids through PLAY. Our first toy is a hopscotch kit called "Hip2Hop" that includes a hopscotch placemarker, sidewalk chalk, and a
mini-DVD with kids teaching kids how to play hopscotch. Within the next
month we will also have on our website supporting information about
different ways to play hopscotch. Other toys that we hope will entice
kids away from electronics and back outside to play are in the works.
So please include us as a partner and let's "Get America Moving!"
