The primary mission of Everlast Climbing Industries, Inc. is to provide products and services of unparalleled quality and innovation. It is our desire to promote climbing as a way of increasing physical fitness in students in an innovative and exciting way. And at the same time offer schools a wall that can be used to teach not only important life lessons, but contribute to the overall academic ability of each student.
We employ educators to author, innovate and represent our products. You’ll see staff from our company in attendance at physical education workshops across the United States actively engaging in conversations with leading physical educators and diligently seeking feedback on how to better support their curricular needs.
We see ourselves as partners in the physical education classroom and all of our work is inspired by three compelling youth-centered health challenges: (1) the rise in obesity rates, (2) the marked increase in Type II Diabetes, and (3) the anticipated reality that today’s students will represent the first generation ever to have a lifespan shorter than that of their parents, unless current diet and exercise habits change!
The Northland Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine consists of 350 students and professionals practicing clinical medicine, research, education and an array of health and fitness disciplines. Members work in clinical settings, research laboratories, classrooms and fitness facilities to advance health through science, education and medicine.
The Northland Chapter supports various initiatives to promote fitness and health through physical activity including educational meetings and newsletters. Highlights in 2006 include the chapter’s spring meeting on April 7 in St. Cloud, Minnesota and the chapter’s Annual Meeting to be held October 12-13 in Mankato, Minnesota.
Yoga To Go Kids provides a mobile, bi-lingual yoga exercise program for children between the ages of 4-10 yrs. Through games, group and partner activities, share circles and parent/grand-parent involvement, children get fit while having FUN. We LOVE teaching yoga and our mission is to inspire children to learn about themselves and the world around them through our program. Our participants come from all levels of diversity, hence the classes can be taken in Spanish/ French/ Italian/English, and soon American Sign/English, and Hmong/English. Our web-site is www.yogatogokids.com
We are working with the schools that currently offer Yoga To Go Kids and the Minnesota Children’s Museum to promote “kids for healthy habits” during the Autumn 2006 school term.
