Playgrounds

Mountain Lake Park

A photo of the play equipment at Mountain Lake Park.Mountain Lake is located on the Presidio’s southern border just east of Park Presidio Boulevard (Highway 1) near the intersection of 10th Avenue and Lake Street. Beautiful Mountain Lake is being enhanced through a partnership project led by the Presidio Trust, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and community volunteers. The project is improving the lake’s health, restoring natural areas, and creating new amenities for visitors such as trails and benches.

Mountain Lake Park is located adjacent to the lake and includes a playground, tennis courts, paths, and lawn areas. The park is operated by the City of San Francisco. Julius Kahn Playground

“JK” (as it is popularly known) includes swings, sandboxes, lawns, and tennis courts. Though within the Presidio’s boundaries, the City of San Francisco operates the playground.
