Action for Healthy Kids Logo

Action for Healthy Kids is a national non-profit organization taking action to address our nation’s growing epidemic of overweight and sedentary children by bringing positive, healthy change to the school environment. Action for Healthy Kids is composed of 51 all-volunteer State Teams comprised of leaders in education, health and fitness, parents, students and teachers. We work to increase children’s access to physical activity and physical education, to improve children’s eating habits by increasing access to nutritious foods, and to educate administrators, teachers, parents and children about how physical activity and good nutrition can enhance academic achievement.

Action for Healthy Kids, in collaboration with the President’s Challenge Program of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, the National Football League, and the National Dairy Council, created a new after-school program, “ReCharge! Energizing After-School.” ReCharge! is a program that encourages kids to get active and eat healthier, while focusing on goal-setting and teamwork through fun physical activities.

In conjunction with promoting ReCharge! as part of our activities as a 50th Anniversary Partner, we will:

  • promote the 50th Anniversary Partners to Get America Moving initiative to our thousands of State Team volunteers, our Partner Steering Committee members, and on our website,
  • disseminate to our 51 State Teams the 50th Anniversary Partners’ messaging toolkit,
  • promote the President’s Challenge to our State Team members to share with their local school contacts,
  • inform State Teams of the opportunity to engage Council members as speakers at their state summits.
