The Lyndon State Bank, Lyndon, Kansas, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation. The counterfeit items display the routing number 101104407, which is assigned to The Lyndon State Bank. The items also display security features embedded in a darkened top border and along the bottom border between two padlock icons. The bank's name appears in the top-left corner, and the words "CASHIER'S CHECK" appear in the top center. The Lyndon State Bank does not issue cashier's checks; however, it does issue money orders. Authentic checks display the words "BANK MONEY ORDER" inside a box embedded in the top border. The bank's name is shown below the box. A floral design is displayed on the left side. Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
