At an event on June 19, 2008, at the Big Dam Bridge in Little Rock, AR, PCPFS Executive Director Melissa Johnson presented an award to Dr. Joe Thompson (left), Surgeon General of Arkansas, for the state's finishing in the top five in the National President's Challenge. Dr. Thompson received the award on behalf of AR Governor Mike Beebe. Also shown is Rear Admiral Steven K. Galson, M.D., M.P.H., Acting Surgeon General of the United States (center).
