The goal of this site is to provide scientific background information and to outline current policies, programs, and practical guidance related to mercury. If you are looking for a general overview of the issues and concerns associated with mercury, the basic facts page is a great place to start and contains links to the more detailed pages. Within this site, you will also find information about fish consumption advisories, cleaning up small mercury spills, and safe disposal, as well as a list of mercury-related links.

This section will be of interest if you are looking for information about mercury's chemical properties, biogeochemical cycling, transport through the atmosphere, global budget, and the impacts of mercury pollution on the environment and human health.
